Coming Soon: Reb's Famous BBQ Expanding
Here's the latest on the brand's expansion plans.
MARGATE, FL – Reb's Famous BBQ, owned by couple Lynette and Jerell Mash, plans to open a new location at 4976 W Atlantic Blvd, Margate, FL 33063, Mash told Business Debut in a recent phone interview.
The Margate restaurant will join the existing Fort Lauderdale location, which grew out of a home-based operation and a food trailer in the early 2000s, Mash shared with Business Debut.
"We started from our home location, then we transitioned to a food trailer, then we transitioned to the brick and mortar in Fort Lauderdale, and now we're opening in Margate," Mash told Business Debut.
What to Expect
The Fort Lauderdale restaurant operates as a takeout-only space, and the Margate location will introduce a full dining area.
Reb's Famous BBQ is a family-owned operation. The menu is focused on smoked meats and Southern sides. Popular dishes include baked mac and cheese, seafood rice, collard greens, hand-cut candied yams, smoked ribs and much more.
Mash said the team smokes ribs and chicken with cherry oak wood on a large rotisserie, a process that takes about four hours.
The Margate restaurant will allow Reb's Famous BQ to bring more of its catering offerings into everyday service. "We're introducing brisket, we're introducing some pulled chicken," Mash told Business Debut.
Mash said many catering items never made it onto the daily menu in Fort Lauderdale because of capacity constraints.
Hours
Mash said the Margate location is planning to open five days a week.
The current plan calls for hours Wednesday — Sunday, 11 a.m. — 9 p.m., with Sunday hours 11 a.m. — 5 p.m., Mash shared with Business Debut.
Hours are subject to change as opening approaches.
An exact opening date is not available currently.
