Coming Soon Macon: Cafe Del A Bru
A local caterer is opening a brick and mortar location.
MACON, GA — Cafe Del A Bru, a new soul food and seafood carryout inside the Shell station at 4331 Pio Nono Ave, Macon, Ga 31206, is preparing for a September 5 grand opening, owner Larry Brewer told Business Debut in a recent phone interview.
Brewer said the concept blends soul food, seafood, Cajun and Asian dishes, shaped by his military career and years of cooking and catering. “I’ve been all over the world,” Brewer told Business Debut.
What to Expect
Cafe Del A Bru will operate as a carryout restaurant. The space has housed restaurants before and sits within the existing Shell gas station.
Guests will order at the counter, by phone, or online. Brewer said he has focused on cleaning, repainting and updating the space, including new front windows.
Menu and Vision
The menu will be focused on soul food “cooked with love,” with seafood, Cajun and Asian influences. He said he wants guests to feel a sense of home and familiarity with dishes they grew up eating.
Brewer cited items such as pound cake and classic drinks like red and grape Kool-Aid as examples. He told Business Debut he often offers samples to let “the food sell itself.”
Brewers background is in catering and foodservice, and after repeatedly being asked when and where he would open a restaurant, he found this space in Macon.
Opening Timeline
Brewer said the grand opening is scheduled for September 5.
He told Business Debut the event will feature a smokehouse theme, a Corvette club meetup, a DJ and two radio stations on-site. Brewer intends the launch to be an introduction to the neighborhood as community members as well as business owners.
Hours
Cafe Del A Bru plans to open daily from 11 a.m. — 8 p.m., Brewer told Business Debut.
