Coming Soon Clayton: Aroma Indian Cuisine
Here's what's replacing El Patron 323.
CLAYTON, NC – Aroma Indian Cuisine, a new full-service Indian restaurant, is preparing to open at 905 E Main St, Clayton, NC 27520, co-owner Gyan Joshi told Business Debut in a phone interview.
The restaurant is taking over the former El Patron 323 restaurant space. Joshi said the team is working through interior updates and city inspections.
What to Expect
Aroma Indian Cuisine will operate as a sit-down, full-service restaurant, with takeout available and delivery planned through third-party platforms such as DoorDash, Joshi shared with Business Debut.
Estimated seating capacity is 80 to 100 guests. Joshi and his partners cited Clayton’s rapid population growth as a key reason for choosing the location.
Menu and Vision
“We’re going to focus mostly on North Indian cuisine,” Joshi told Business Debut.
He said the kitchen will serve appetizers including samosas and pakodas, along with classic curries such as vindaloo, korma, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Tandoori chicken, kebabs, mixed grill options and a range of breads, including garlic naan and cheese naan, are also planned.
The owners are planning a beer and wine program and are pursuing the necessary licenses.
Opening Timeline
Joshi said the partners are targeting the end of August for opening, depending on the timing of inspections with the town of Clayton.
He noted the date may shift by a few weeks.
Hours
Joshi said the team aims to open seven days a week, with hours targeting 11 a.m. — 9 or 9:30 p.m., depending on staffing.
Final operating hours are to be announced.
