Coming Groveland: Kurosumi Brick and Mortar
The local brand has operated out of a commissary kitchen for the past year.
GROVELAND, FL — Kurosumi, the Japanese-inspired concept from Dustin Campbell and business partner Casey Cole, is building out a brick and mortar space at 135 East Broad Street, Suite E, Groveland, FL 34736, Campbell told Business Debut in a recent phone interview.
Campbell said Kurosumi has operated for about a year out of a commissary kitchen, opening there July 1 last year.
What to Expect
The new Kurosumi location is designed as a small dining room with a maximum occupancy of 42 people.
Campbell said he will run the kitchen while his wife, Nicole Isenhour, manages the front of house, including greeting guests, running food, handling drinks, bussing, and resetting tables.
He said the restaurant will use QR codes at each table to place orders from their seats, and food and drinks will be delivered to the table. Kurosumi is also planning a bar program with beer, wine, and sake, pending licensing approvals.

Menu and Vision
“I take American barbecue style smoked meats and put it with authentic Japanese dishes,” Campbell told Business Debut. Everything on the menu, including sauces, smoked meats, and ramen broth, is made from scratch.
Ramen is a major focus. Campbell brings in bones and cooks the broth over four or five days, using each batch to start the next. They also specialize in rice balls made from sushi rice and either ribeye or chicken, marinated in Kurosumi’s signature sauce.
Dumpling fillings are made in-house and the team hand folds each dumpling.
Opening Timeline
Construction is underway at the East Broad Street space.
Campbell said residents have been stopping by during buildout, knocking on the door, and reaching out through email, phone, and social media to ask when Kurosumi will open.
An exact opening date is to be announced. They hope to open in mid to late August.
