VENICE, FL — Coach’s Bar and Grill is planning to open between February 1 and February 15 at 124 W Venice Ave, Venice, FL 34285, according to owner Rob Burton, who told Business Debut the restaurant is nearing the final stages of preparation. The full-service, family-friendly bar and grill is designed to serve as a neighborhood gathering spot in the heart of downtown Venice.

What to Expect

Coach’s Bar and Grill is a restaurant-first concept with a full bar, focused on welcoming families alongside guests looking to enjoy cocktails, beer, and local sports. The space will offer close to 100 seats inside, along with about 40 seats on an outdoor patio. Multiple TVs throughout the restaurant will highlight local and regional sports.

Burton described the concept as community-driven, with an emphasis on supporting local schools, first responders, and the military through ongoing discounts and involvement.

The menu is broad and made from scratch, featuring everything from ribeye steaks and jumbo lump crab cakes to lobster rolls, wings, and Cajun-inspired dishes. Standout items include cheeseburger egg rolls, Reuben egg rolls, and house-made Cajun pasta with shrimp, chicken, and sausage in a white wine cream sauce.

“All our recipes are homemade,” Burton told Business Debut, noting that even fries are hand-cut in-house. The menu will also include half-pound burgers, seafood-focused salads, sandwiches like a turkey avocado pesto ciabatta, and rotating daily lunch specials during the week.

Guests can also expect a variety of sandwiches, half-pound burgers, and seafood-focused salads. Menu items include a turkey avocado pesto sandwich on ciabatta, a Pittsburgh-style burger, grilled and blackened salmon salads, shrimp salads, and a classic Cobb salad. Burton told Business Debut the restaurant will offer rotating daily lunch specials Monday through Friday, with offerings that change seasonally and reflect both lighter dishes and comfort-driven plates.

Ownership and Background

Owner Rob Burton brings decades of coaching and restaurant experience to Coach’s Bar and Grill. He previously owned and operated Coach’s Corner Grill in Loudoun County, Virginia, for 15 years before selling the business. After relocating to Venice, Burton decided to reintroduce the concept in a downtown setting with strong foot traffic and a community focus.

The Venice restaurant will operate as a family-run business, with Burton, his wife Jennifer Burton, and daughter Brooke Burton all actively involved in daily operations. “We’ve always believed in being present and hands-on, getting to know our guests and becoming part of the neighborhood,” Burton told Business Debut.

Hours

Coach’s Bar and Grill plans to open seven days a week. Initial hours are expected to be 11 a.m. — 11 p.m. during the week, with extended weekend hours and a potential brunch service starting around 8:30 or 9 a.m.
