Classic Drive-In Restaurant Returning to Sarasota

SARASOTA, FL — Hob Nob Drive In is targeting a late March opening at 1701 N. Washington Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34234. Dimitris Syros, owner of Breakfast Company, told Business Debut the project is led by his stepfather and business partner, Troy King, who is the majority owner and driving force behind bringing the restaurant back.

What to Expect

The concept is built as a tribute to the original Hob Nob, a longtime Sarasota drive-in known for classic burgers and shakes. Syros said the goal is to keep it familiar and cost-friendly while leaning into the nostalgia that many locals associate with the spot.

Hob Nob will operate as fast casual, with ordering at the counter as well as self-order kiosks. The team plans dine-in, takeout, third-party delivery, and catering.

Menu and Vision

Guests can expect a traditional drive-in lineup with milkshakes, burgers, french fries, and onion rings. Syros said the reopening has already generated strong community interest, with the announcement drawing significant engagement across social media.

Syros said the reopening is led by his stepfather and business partner, Troy King, for whom Hob Nob has long been personal. He described the project as “resurrecting his childhood legend,” rooted in memories shared by generations of Sarasota locals.

Hours are still being finalized. Syros said they are targeting opening around 11 a.m., with closing generally planned between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., and operating seven days a week once fully up and running.
