Chocowinity is Getting a New Cafe: Here Are the Details

CHOCOWINITY, NC — Perfect Perks Coffee & Café is preparing to open a new sit-down coffee shop and bakery at 160 Towne Center, Suite 110, Chocowinity, NC 27817, targeting a late January opening. Owner Micki Kinnion told Business Debut she is working through final inspections and menu planning before setting an exact opening date.

The new café will build on the success of Kinnion’s Perfect Perks Coffee Hut in Washington, which will continue operating as normal.

What to Expect

The Chocowinity café will offer counter service with ample seating for guests to stay and enjoy their drinks and food. Kinnion expects to seat about 25 to 30 people inside. Once the weather warms up, Kinnion also plans to add outdoor seating, which she said will be puppy-friendly.

Kinnion noted that Sundays will remain a closed day for the café, but she is considering using that time for private gatherings, such as parties or business meet-and-greets.

Menu and Vision

Kinnion said the menu will center on a full coffee program, including hot, iced and blended drinks. Guests can also expect smoothies, Red Bull-based refreshers and flavored lemonades. The café will serve six to eight ice cream flavors, available by the scoop or paired with coffee.

Food offerings will include items such as avocado toast, breakfast-style options and a rotating selection of baked goods. Kinnion plans to emphasize bite-size sweets so guests can sample multiple items in a single visit.

“Instead of paying for one big cookie, you’re going to be able to pay and get a bite of three or four different things,” Kinnion told Business Debut. She described herself as “a foodie” who enjoys offering variety, noting her long-running holiday trays of small pieces of brownies, breads, Congo squares, Baby Ruth bars and other home-style baked items.

Opening Timeline

Kinnion recently completed a fire marshal walk-through at the new space and plans to schedule health department inspections next. She said the team is targeting a late January opening, with the exact opening date to be announced.

Hours

Kinnion plans for Perfect Perks Coffee & Café to follow the same schedule as the Washington coffee hut, opening from 6 a.m. — 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The café will be closed on Sundays, with Kinnion considering using that day for private events.
