Cheez'd and Confused Team Launching Another Food Truck
The food truck concept is transitioning to a permanent location while launching a second brand focused on steak frites.
BALL GROUND, GA - After years of mobile service, Cheez'd and Confuzed is opening in a stationary location and adding a new brand to their mobile food lineup: Empire Steak South.
Owner Daniel Ray shared that the businesses will be stationed at: 2960 Ball Ground/Canton Hwy, Ball Ground, GA 30107.
What to Expect
Cheez'd and Confused is expected to be operational at the above address for 5-6 days a week serving indulgent and award-winning cheesy sandwiches from a 1964 Shasta Airflyte camper converted into a food truck. The truck will be supported by an onsite commissary kitchen.
Expect them to offer lunch service from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with breakfast and dinner service planned as the team grows.
Ray shared that he is rolling out a new truck focusing on steak and frites called Empire Steak South, which will primarily serve hanger steaks over fries with sauces like chimichurri and more.

The location will feature walk-up window ordering and picnic tables for outdoor dining. The vibe will be seat by classic 70's music, according to a news release.
Brand History
In 2019, owner Daniel Ray won the Atlanta Grilled Cheese Festival. This award changed his career trajectory from the medical field to food entrepreneur.
According to a release: "Over the next six years, Cheez’d & Confuzed crisscrossed Atlanta, serving neighborhoods, festivals, and events, movie sets, and Atlanta's hometown professional sports teams, while quietly building a loyal following."
Regarding the permanent location, Ray said: “What’s surprised me most is the loyalty. People have driven hours just to find us, and on opening day one of our regulars was already waiting in the parking lot by 9 a.m. That kind of love is humbling. Having a permanent home makes it easier for the people who’ve supported us from the beginning, and that means everything.”
Opening Timeline
Expect the Empire Steak South truck to begin serving their steak and frites dishes in the next week or so. They will be onsite with Cheez'd and Confuzed a couple of days a week.
They will also use the additional truck to fulfill catering and event demand while still serving guests from the stationary location.
