ATLANTA, GA — Casi Cielo, the acclaimed Oaxacan-inspired restaurant from restaurateur Juane Henao, will open its second Atlanta location at 405 N Angier Ave NE #120, Atlanta, GA 30308 in mid-December. Henao told Business Debut the team is working toward a second-week-of-December opening.

What to Expect

The new 6,000-square-foot restaurant will feature an interior inspired by luxury Mexican resorts and a 3,500-square-foot patio with its own bar and menu. “We’re designing the space to be comfortable and approachable, with large booths and open seating,” Henao said.

Guests can expect signature items from the original Sandy Springs location, including duck carnitas and bone marrow, along with new additions such as ceviches, a selection of steaks, and a chef’s tasting menu served at an exclusive table inside the kitchen.

The patio will offer a more casual experience, featuring tacos, quesadillas, and drinks in an outdoor setting.

Henao describes the concept as “good dining”—sophisticated but not intimidating. “We focus on hospitality and on preparing delicious food,” he told Business Debut. “It’s not fine dining, but it’s refined and warm. We just want people to feel great while they eat.”

The restaurant’s name translates to “almost heaven,” a nod to its focus on creating memorable experiences. “Casi Cielo means almost heaven,” Henao said. “We want to prepare not only food but moments—moments that can only be surpassed when you go to heaven.”

Executive Chef Juan Pablo Ruiz, who has been with Casi Cielo since its inception, will lead the kitchen. Ruiz previously worked in San Sebastián, Spain, and continues to collaborate with chefs in Oaxaca. “He’s a brilliant chef,” Henao said. “He brings deep understanding of both Oaxacan tradition and Atlanta culture.”

Experience and Atmosphere

Henao said Casi Cielo was designed to create lasting memories through food and hospitality. “Casi Cielo is one of those places where people come to truly enjoy the moment,” he told Business Debut. “You won’t feel intimidated by the service or the menu. Even our wine list will be small—just good wines chosen for how they make you feel while you’re dining.”

He added that the restaurant’s focus is on the complete experience. “We’re really focused on the moment at the table,” Henao said. “We want every guest to feel connected, comfortable, and cared for.”
