Caribbean Soul Food Concept Coming to Concord, NC

CONCORD, NC — A new Caribbean soul food fusion restaurant from the team behind BC Battery Lounge is planned for 42 Union St S Suite B, Concord, NC 28025, with co-owner Jeanneth Vasquez telling Business Debut the group is targeting a late June or early July opening.

Vasquez is opening the restaurant alongside her fiancé, Demonde Richardson.

What to Expect

The full-service concept will blend Jamaican, Puerto Rican and Honduran cuisines into a Caribbean soul food fusion menu. Guests can expect a lounge-style atmosphere with approximately 50 to 60 seats inside, along with a rear patio expected to seat at least 15.

The interior will reflect Caribbean-inspired decor. Vasquez said the overall ambiance will lean into a relaxed lounge environment.

The restaurant will also feature a full bar with classic cocktails such as old fashions and margaritas, in addition to specialty drinks designed to complement the food menu.

Menu and Vision

The kitchen will focus on infusing Caribbean and Central American flavors across its offerings. The team plans to create dishes that bring together Jamaican, Puerto Rican and Honduran culinary traditions under one concept.

Live entertainment is also part of the vision. The owners are already in discussions with local bands and plan to incorporate performances similar to those hosted at BC Battery Lounge.

The Concord restaurant comes from the same ownership team behind BC Battery Lounge in downtown Bessemer City. That concept recently expanded and features live bands, karaoke nights and themed music events.

Opening Timeline

The team is currently in the permitting and construction phase. Vasquez said they are aiming for a late June or early July debut, though timing may shift depending on construction and approvals.

The restaurant name will be announced once finalized.
