Cape Side Brewing Bringing Craft Beer Concept to Southport
A range of craft beers brewed on-site, live music, and rotating food trucks will highlight offerings at this Southport brewery.
SOUTHPORT, NC — Cape Side Brewing is targeting an April 1 opening at 511 North Howe Street, Southport, NC 28461, co-owner Kevin Bower told Business Debut. The brewery is led by partners Alan A. McDonald, Kevin J. Wright, and Kevin Bower.
What to Expect
Cape Side Brewing will feature beer brewed on-site, with the team completing its first batch ahead of opening, Bower said. The space combines two buildings into one, offering approximately 2,000 square feet indoors along with an outdoor beer garden.
The outdoor area will include a stage for live music and additional seating, with the full property spanning about a quarter acre. The brewery will also host food trucks, with space for up to two at a time, and plans to partner with nearby restaurants for takeout options.
Menu and Vision
Bower said the brewery will offer a range of beer styles, including lagers, IPAs, and lower-alcohol session beers aimed at appealing to the local beach crowd.
The concept has been in development since 2019, when the partners formed the business after years of homebrewing experience. “We all like beer, we like good beer. Let’s see what we can do,” Bower told Business Debut.
Opening Timeline
The team is targeting an April 1 opening, though timing remains tentative as final preparations continue.
Hours
Cape Side Brewing plans to operate nearly every day, with hours expected to run until about 10 p.m. on weekdays and 11 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday. Final hours are to be announced.
