SWEETWATER, FL — Bro’s Hot Chicken is preparing to open its third location at 10899 SW 4th Street, Suite 101, Sweetwater, FL 33174, marking a long-awaited expansion for the Miami-born Nashville hot chicken brand. Owner David Adan told Business Debut the restaurant is targeting an opening within the next one to two months after more than two and a half years in development.

Adan is opening the Sweetwater restaurant with his partner, Randy Morillo, with support from Adan’s wife, Ashley Arias. The location has required a full build-out, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing work, permits and construction approvals, Adan told Business Debut.

“We’re very excited within the next coming months to have the grand opening,” Adan told Business Debut. “It’s obviously taken us a little bit more time than we would like to, but I’m sure it’s going to be well worth the wait.”

What to Expect

Bro’s Hot Chicken is a quick-service Nashville hot chicken restaurant that started in South Florida after Adan and Morillo saw an opportunity to bring the style to Miami, Adan told Business Debut. The brand began as a ghost kitchen out of a warehouse before testing the concept at Smorgasburg, opening its first brick-and-mortar location on 8th Street and 67th Avenue, and later adding a food truck.

The food truck is available for private catering and can be booked for birthdays, special events and parties by emailing the business or filling out the form on the Bro’s Hot Chicken website, Adan told Business Debut. The truck currently serves locations including the University of Miami and St. Thomas University.

The Sweetwater restaurant is planned for about 50 seats and will offer beer and wine, Adan told Business Debut.

The menu will center on Nashville hot chicken with spice levels ranging from no spice to fuego, including mild, medium, hot and extra hot, Adan told Business Debut. Guests will be able to choose different spice levels across items such as sandwiches and tenders.

Adan said the Sweetwater location was chosen because of its fit with nearby Florida International University and the surrounding student community. He described the restaurant as a place where guests can eat hot chicken, do homework, drink a beer or spend time with friends.

“We’re so excited to cater to that Sweetwater area and Florida International University,” Adan told Business Debut. “We have a long lease there, and we’re ready to serve them for decades to come.”

The restaurant will also offer desserts, including soft serve ice cream, and Adan said the team is considering future additions after opening.

Adan also said the team is already thinking beyond the initial opening. While the breakfast plans have not been formally announced, he told Business Debut the Sweetwater location could eventually introduce a small breakfast menu after launch, designed with the FIU crowd and surrounding Sweetwater community in mind. Adan said the future addition is something he believes could “make a lot of noise” not only in Sweetwater, but across Miami.
