Bricks & Iron is preparing to open at 23674 US-301 North, Lawtey, FL 32058, located directly in front of the Budget Inn Motel at the corner of 125 and 301.

Owner Steve Bricks shared with Business Debut that the business expects to hold a soft opening on December 1, with a full push for business beginning in January after the holidays.

What to Expect

Bricks & Iron is bringing something brand-new to the Lawtey and Starke communities: a full entertainment space that includes a pool hall, beer and wine, pizza, darts, arcade games, and a newly built outdoor patio that will host live music and family-friendly events.

The idea began when Bricks realized there was simply nothing to do in either Lawtey or Starke. After mentioning the concept out loud in front of a friend—now his business partner—the two decided to move forward and create a casual, comfortable entertainment destination for locals.

Local billiards leagues have already reached out and plan to form teams at the new venue starting next month, giving Bricks & Iron strong early interest and community support.

Bricks & Iron will begin with a simple food program focused on pizza. While the long-term plan includes expanding into wings, mozzarella sticks and other finger foods, the owners are intentionally starting small with pizzas as they continue building out the space.

The facility they inherited already includes a full grease trap, propane lines, and a functioning hood system from the previous restaurant tenant. Which will allow for future expansion when the time is right.

Background & Community

Steve Bricks and his partner Christopher Coldiron both have backgrounds in law enforcement and share a similar mindset and work ethic, which helped make the partnership a natural fit. Bricks previously worked for the City of Lawtey and later moved to Starke; recognizing the lack of entertainment options in both communities pushed him to create something new for the area.

Although the business is also part of his long-term retirement plan, Bricks says he’s glad the concept will serve the community by providing something fun for adults and families.

Bricks & Iron has also built a family-friendly outdoor area, where children can enjoy movie nights. Such as holiday screenings like The Polar Express. This way adults can relax inside playing pool.

The owners spent the last several months fully gutting and renovating the previous space, rebuilding it from top to bottom with the help of their significant others, who played a major role in the project.

Ownership

Bricks & Iron is owned by Steve Bricks and Christopher Coldiron, whose last name reflects the “Iron” half of the business name.

Both owners bring law-enforcement discipline and experience to the venture. Their shared backgrounds and hands-on renovation work have shaped Bricks & Iron into a personal and community-driven project.
