OAKLAND PARK, FL – Bondi Sushi is preparing to open its newest flagship location at 3331 N Federal Hwy, Oakland Park, FL 33306. Owner Aiden Carty told Business Debut that they plan to open in early to mid-October.

This Oakland Park location features a 16-seat circular sushi bar, 30–40 table seats indoors, and an additional 40 outside, accommodating approximately 120 guests. A standalone cocktail bar, developed in collaboration with Shinji's, ranked among the top 100 cocktail bars in North America, will offer an expansive menu for an elevated dining experience.

Carty explained, “We want people to come for a casual lunch or takeout and still enjoy a luxurious fine dining experience on weekends. This location represents a new wave for Bondi, merging our fine casual roots with a more elevated approach.”

A Japanese-American Fusion

Carty noted, “Bondi Oakland Park will have the most comprehensive menu and cocktail program we’ve ever offered.”

Bondi Oakland Park expands beyond its traditional sushi and nigiri menu with a variety of unique offerings:

  • Sushi & Omakase: Elegant nigiri, hand rolls, sashimi, and a Robata grill behind the bar for live preparation of chicken, pork belly, scallops, and vegetables.
  • Hot Entrees: Tomahawk sticks, Wagyu sliders and dumplings, duck fried rice, black cod miso, Japanese lamb chops, popcorn shrimp, and chicken karaage.
  • Vegetarian Options: Cauliflower tempura, crispy Brussels sprouts, Japanese salads, and more.
  • Desserts: Sweet spring rolls and matcha cheesecake round out the menu.

Owner Experience and Expansion Plans

Bondi Sushi, originally founded in New York in 2017, brings its signature “life is better at the beach” philosophy to Southern Florida. Carty and his business partner, David Hess, bring extensive experience to the table, operating six Bondi locations in New York, three in Miami, the Michelin-starred Noda in New York City, and Shinji's cocktail bar. This Oakland Park restaurant is the largest in its Southern Florida portfolio.

“We are really excited. This is the biggest Bondi we've built to date,” Carty shared.

Their next Southern Florida venture, Merrick Village in Coral Gables, is scheduled to open in February 2026 with a similarly elevated dining concept.

Operating Hours

The restaurant will be operating daily from 11:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
