CAPE CORAL, FL — Big Nick’s BBQ is expanding its Carolina-style barbecue concept with a new location at 4720 SE 9th Place, Ste 200, Cape Coral, FL 33904. Owner Timothy Collier told Business Debut the restaurant is targeting a December 2025 opening at The Cove at 47th Street, a new mixed-use development that will also feature three other restaurants alongside 327 luxury apartments and retail space.

What to Expect

The Cape Coral location will seat about 48 guests, including 30 on a spacious patio. The restaurant will follow a fast-casual, counter-service model inspired by traditional Texas-style barbecue halls. Guests will select their proteins, which are sliced to order, before choosing sides and drinks.
“It’s all smoked fresh daily, right on site,” Collier told Business Debut. “When it’s sold out, it’s gone. Everything we make—from our brisket to our sauces—is prepared in-house.”

The menu features smoked brisket, pulled pork, turkey, and spare ribs, alongside a popular smash burger and signature sides like brisket mac and cheese, baked beans, green beans, coleslaw, and fried okra. Desserts include key lime pie and banana pudding made from scratch.

Collier said guests can also expect rotating specials such as smoked prime rib sandwiches during the holidays and corned beef Reubens in March. The new Cape Coral location will introduce local craft beer and wine—an addition not available at the original drive-thru in Fort Myers.

Collier co-owns the Florida operations with partner Eric Flett. The concept was originally founded in North Carolina by Collier’s longtime friend Tim Fiske, who named the restaurant in honor of his late father, “Big Nick” Fiske.
“Our Fort Myers drive-thru proved there’s a strong demand for what we do,” Collier said. “This new restaurant is what I always envisioned Big Nick’s to be—a place where people can sit down, enjoy fresh barbecue, and have a beer with friends.”
