Belgian Chocolate Dipped Ice Cream Shop Coming to Winter Park

WINTER PARK, FL - La Diperie is targeting a late May opening at 501 North Orlando Ave. Ste. 317, Winter Park, FL 32789, where Robert Vanderloop told Business Debut he and his family are bringing the Canada-based dessert concept to Central Florida. The Winter Park shop will be owned and operated by Robert and Erica Vanderloop, with their children also involved in the business.

What to Expect

La Diperie specializes in soft serve ice cream dipped in Belgian chocolate, with 18 chocolate varieties planned for the Winter Park location. Customers will be able to customize their orders with toppings such as sprinkles, pretzels and Oreo pieces before the chocolate hardens.

The menu will go beyond ice cream. Vanderloop said guests can also expect dipped donuts, cookies, cookie sandwiches, ice cream sandwiches, cheesecake with chocolate dip options, hard ice cream with chocolate drizzle, rainbow cake and cookie dough. A vegan soft serve option is also planned.

“We specialize in the creamiest soft serve ice cream,” Vanderloop told Business Debut. What drew him to the brand, he said, was that “it has something for everyone” and that “every customer experience can be unique based on the customer desires.”

Menu and Vision

For Vanderloop, the concept is about more than dessert. He said he wanted to open something fun, family-oriented and flexible enough to serve a wide range of guests.

“This is our first restaurant,” Vanderloop told Business Debut. “I want families to be happy. I want families to celebrate life experiences, milestones, winning that game.”

He added that he expects La Diperie to be active in the surrounding area. “We just want to be involved in the community,” Vanderloop told Business Debut. “We would love to hear from other community agencies of how we can help become an integral part of what they do.”

Opening Timeline

The team is now in the demolition phase and is targeting the end of May for opening. Vanderloop said the Winter Park shop will be the family’s first La Diperie location, with additional Orlando-area territories planned for the future.

Hours

Planned hours are:

• Monday through Thursday from 1 p.m. - 10 p.m.
• Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m. - 11 p.m. or midnight
• Sunday hours are still being finalized
