COMMERCE, GA — Bagels and Board Games, a new board game café from co-owners Alexandra Adams and John Kalina, is planned for 1728 N Broad St, Commerce, GA 30529, GA. Adams said they recently signed the lease and are targeting an opening by mid-September.

What to Expect

The concept will be a board game café built around bagels, coffee and tabletop play. Guests will be able to visit alone or with family and friends and choose from a library of more than 200 board and card games, ownership told Business Debut.

The 1,500-square-foot space will include about 450 square feet for kitchen and prep and about 1,200 square feet of seating. The café and gaming areas will share the same tables so guests can eat and play in the same space.

The owners plan event nights for trading card games including Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon and Disney Lorcana.

Bagels will be brought in from New York, Adams told Business Debut. The current menu plan includes about eight types of bagels and eight cream cheeses.

The business will serve breakfast bagel sandwiches, pizza bagels in the afternoon and evening, and dessert bagels. Coffee and espresso drinks like cappuccinos, cortados, iced coffee and cold brew will also be offered.

Kalina said he has been a longtime board game and tabletop card player. The vision is to create a space that brings people together around games and conversation, Kalina told Business Debut.

Opening Timeline

Adams said the team is targeting mid-September for opening. An exact opening date is to be announced.

Hours

Specific hours are to be announced. Adams said they are considering an opening time of 8 or 9 a.m. and a closing time around 8 or 9 p.m., about six days a week with Monday as the likely closed day.
