WESLEY CHAPEL, FL – Bacon Egg’N Cheese is expanding its New York–style breakfast sandwich concept with a new food truck planned for Wesley Chapel in mid-October, according to owner Karin Araya, who spoke with Business Debut. The brand, which started in Brandon a year and a half ago, has quickly grown into a fleet of trucks across the Tampa Bay area.

Currently, Bacon Egg’N Cheese operates trucks in Brandon and Downtown Tampa, with another in the works for Wesley Chapel and a fifth truck designed for catering and events that will be based in Miami. The business originally began with one small truck in Brandon and has since built a loyal following for its authentic bodega-inspired sandwiches.

A Taste of New York in Florida

The menu features iconic New York staples, including the namesake bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, along with sausage, egg, and cheese, ham, egg, and cheese, and the Long Island–famous “Hungry Man” sandwich piled high with bacon, sausage, ham, egg, cheese, and a hash brown patty. Customers will also find the beloved “chopped cheese,” a Harlem-born sandwich made with seasoned chopped beef, onions, peppers, lettuce, tomato, and American cheese. Authenticity is at the heart of the brand. To achieve the right taste and texture, the trucks import Kaiser rolls directly from New York, and even stock bottled spring water from the Northeast. “It’s all about getting as close as possible to what we miss from home,” Araya said.

From Trade to Food Trucks

Araya, a longtime electrician by trade, launched the concept after realizing his go-to New York breakfast wasn’t available in Florida. Encouraged by his wife, Paulina, he transformed his passion for food into a full-time business. What began as a side project has now become a fast-growing brand with multiple locations and catering demand from high-profile clients, including inquiries from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Hours and Service

The Wesley Chapel truck will operate seven days a week, 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., closing only on Tuesdays. Seating for about 20 guests will be available outside at each stationary location, and customers can also order through Uber Eats and DoorDash. The Miami-based catering & events truck is expected to launch in mid-September and will be available for events, festivals, and markets across the region.
