Backwoods Country Kitchen Coming to Interlachen
The new restaurant will focus on classic country dishes made from scratch.
INTERLACHEN, FL — Backwoods Country Kitchen, a new family restaurant from restaurant industry veteran Mike Paul, is targeting an opening within the next month to six weeks at 888 Co Rd 310, Interlachen, FL 32148, Paul told Business Debut in a phone interview.
Paul said the restaurant will seat about 65 guests.
Backwoods Country Kitchen grew from requests from local residents for new dining options in the area, Paul said.
What to Expect
Backwoods Country Kitchen will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner service with a focus on country cooking, Paul shared with Business Debut.
Menu plans include country fried steak, pork chops, meatloaf and other homestyle plates. Paul said his goal is to serve a straightforward country menu built around familiar comfort dishes. He said Backwoods Country Kitchen will emphasize cooked-from-scratch plates.
The team is evaluating the addition of a beer and wine bar in the back of the space.
Paul has more than 25 years of restaurant experience across Central Florida, he told Business Debut.
He previously operated Anthony's Pizza locations in Orlando, Kissimmee and other Central Florida markets, along with concepts such as Main Street Pizza, 207 Diner, JoJo's Diner, Johnny's Diner and Salt Springs Pizza.
Paul said those businesses now operate under manager-partners to whom he sold his stakes.
"This is the main one I focus on right now," Paul told Business Debut.
Opening Timeline
Paul said he called on the property after seeing the site closed during frequent drives through the area.
After reaching terms with the owner, he moved ahead with plans for Backwoods Country Kitchen. The restaurant is targeting an opening within a month to a month and a half, Paul told Business Debut.
Hours
Backwoods Country Kitchen plans to open for breakfast, lunch and dinner six days each week.
Paul said he expects the restaurant will close on Mondays.
Final hours are to be announced.
