Authentic Philly Food Arriving Soon in New Port Richey
Cheesesteaks, soft pretzels, meatball parm, and Philadelphia water ice will be on the menu at Authentic Philly by the Bay.
NEW PORT RICHEY, FL – Authentic Philly By The Bay is preparing to bring a taste of Philadelphia to Florida with its first location at 2441 Seven Springs Blvd, New Port Richey, FL 34655. Owner Bill Prout confirmed with Business Debut that this will be his first restaurant location, with the opening date still being finalized.
The restaurant offers an authentic lineup of Philly classics with a Florida twist. It has seating available at a small setup outside the location, which is situated near a Texaco station, where customers can also purchase beverages. Authentic Philly By The Bay will be open Tuesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., with extended hours some evenings.
A Taste of Philadelphia in Florida
Authentic Philly By The Bay will serve South Philly classics including cheesesteaks, soft pretzels, sausage and peppers, meatball parm, and Philadelphia water ice. The water ice is a smooth fruit flavored frozen dessert similar to Italian ice but creamier and less grainy.
Specialty options will also be on the menu, including the chicken bacon ranch cheesesteak and pizza steak. Prout shared that one unique creation, the Mina, will blend Philly tradition with Florida freshness: a spicy chicken cheesesteak topped with hot mango.
“I’m planning to order the Amoroso rolls straight from Philadelphia, and I’ll be using fresh produce from the nearby farmers to keep as much of the original taste and quality as possible,” Prout said.
Over 30 Years of Culinary Experience
Prout has been working on this project for almost six years. He relocated to Florida in the middle of the pandemic (COVID) and used to work at Pizza Man in Center City, Philadelphia, for nearly 25 years. His cooking experience runs deep. His father was a chef, and he himself has over 30 years of experience in preparing pizza and cheesesteaks.
Prout will run the restaurant by himself, but looks forward to building his team as the business expands.
