WEST PALM BEACH, FL – A new tea-focused concept is brewing in Downtown West Palm Beach, as Arya Tea Bar prepares to open at 508 Clematis St, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. Owner Sophie DeWaal told Business Debut that the shop is targeting a November 2025 opening with no exact date yet, as they're depending on when everything comes together.

The cafe is located on the corner of a newly constructed apartment complex and is about 1,000 square feet. There will be ten indoor and ten outdoor seats inside, as well as a counter for orders and pickups. DeWaal noted that the walkable location makes it an ideal stop for downtown residents and visitors.

A Modern Lifestyle Tea Bar

DeWaal describes Arya Tea Bar as a modern lifestyle of tea, with a menu divided into three categories. Guests can expect:

  • Matcha drinks such as lavender matcha and mango matcha, alongside the classics.
  • Fruit refreshers made with tea bases, real fruit purées, and diced fruit toppings.
  • Classic teas, including black tea, Earl Grey, and hibiscus, with options for milk teas and boba.

Aside from tea offerings, Arya Tea Bar will also serve light bites, including pastries, cookies, chia seed pudding, and yogurt bowls, which makes it ideal for a casual spot for both drinks and small snacks.

From Finance to Tea Venture

Arya Tea Bar marks DeWaal’s first restaurant venture. Before launching the concept, she spent a decade in New York City as an investment banker, with the last five years covering the restaurant sector. She said her love for tea and her professional background inspired her to spot an opportunity in the market.

“I noticed that tea was becoming more popular across the U.S., but there was a real lack of quality and consistency,” DeWaal shared. “I decided to start the concept to solve that problem so customers will have a place where they can count on high-quality teas with transparent ingredients.”

The name Arya carries a personal meaning. It comes from her horse, with whom she competed as a show jumper. “She made me realize I could do anything I put my mind to,” DeWaal said. “I want to inspire others to feel the same way through this business.”

Opening Hours

The opening hours are set for 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, and plans to expand to seven days a week eventually.
