Agave Bandido Expanding to Venice with Fifth Location
This concept pairs Mexican dining with a speakeasy tiki-style lounge experience.
VENICE, FL — Agave Bandido to Open Fifth Location in Venice with Indoor-Outdoor Design and Event-Driven Experience, targeting a September 1, 2026 opening at 19830 West Villages Parkway, Venice, FL 34293, with owner Matthew Baum and partner Matthew Faul, chief operating officer, leading the concept, Baum told Business Debut.
What to Expect
Agave Bandido is a full-service Mexican restaurant known for combining food and drinks with an energetic atmosphere. The Venice location will introduce a large indoor-outdoor setup with eight-foot nano windows that can open completely, creating an open-air experience when weather allows, Baum told Business Debut.
The restaurant will seat just over 100 guests inside, with an additional 70 seats in a covered outdoor space. Each location also features a hidden “speakeasy-tiki” concept called Maya, accessed through a concealed entrance, Baum said.
Murals will play a major role in the design, created by artist Ruben Ubiera, who has worked on all Agave Bandito locations, Baum told Business Debut.
Menu and Vision
The menu will feature a mix of traditional and elevated Mexican dishes. Guests can expect tacos, burritos, and quesadillas alongside items like a 48-hour marinated churrasco, a ribeye with tajin butter, and panko-crusted mahi, Baum said.
Table-side guacamole and house-made steak empanadas are among the most popular items, with all food prepared fresh daily in-house. “We are all about amazing food and drinks, but we also like to have an over-the-top atmosphere and energy,” Baum told Business Debut.

Opening Timeline
The Venice restaurant is the brand’s fifth location, with the first opening in Pembroke Pines in 2020. Baum said the team began developing the concept around 2017 before launching during the pandemic.
In addition to Agave Bandito, Baum also owns Backyard Social, with one location in Fort Myers and a second currently under construction in Lakewood Ranch, targeting a late 2026 opening, Baum told Business Debut.
Hours
The restaurant plans to operate seven days a week, opening at 11 a.m. Closing times will be 10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, 11 p.m. on Thursday, and midnight on Friday and Saturday, Baum said.
