COLUMBUS, GA — Afrobeat Restaurant and Bar, owned by Olatunji “TJ” Aiyeola, is preparing to open soon at 5727 Moon Road, Ste. G–K, Columbus, GA 31909 . The restaurant is expected to debut by December, or no later than Valentine’s Day 2026, according to Aiyeola.

Aiyeola, who also owns Waki’s African Kitchen, said Afrobeat will offer guests an immersive cultural experience through food, music, and atmosphere. “We’re trying to connect the African culture, the music, and the food,” he explained. “It’s going to be basically African concepts all together in one spot — African food, African music, and the best of African drinks.”

What’s on the Menu

Guests can expect a wide selection of West African dishes, including jollof rice, fried rice, peanut butter soup, and palm butter soup. The menu is designed to highlight a blend of cuisines from several West African countries, not just Nigeria, where Aiyeola is from.

A Full-Service Experience

The 3,000+ square-foot restaurant will feature seating for around 100 guests, with full-service dining and weekend entertainment. “We’re working on having DJs every weekend and live bands,” Aiyeola shared. “It’s a place to sit down, enjoy your meal, listen to music, and watch West African movies and sports.”

Hours and Atmosphere

Afrobeat Restaurant and Bar plans to open Tuesdays through Sundays, with weekday hours until 10 p.m. and extended hours on Thursday through Saturday until midnight or later.
