Tommy’s Restaurant
WEAVERVILLE, NC — Tommy’s Restaurant is under new ownership at 247 N Main St, Weaverville, NC 28787, where new owner Martin Ramirez said he is keeping the restaurant open while remodeling the kitchen. Ramirez told Business Debut he is focused on upgrading the back-of-house without interrupting service.

Graze Craze
FAYETTEVILLE, NC — Graze Craze, a charcuterie concept specializing in boards and ready-to-go snack options, is preparing to open at 4011 Sycamore Dairy Rd, Suite 108, Fayetteville, NC 28303, owner Cookie Brice told Business Debut.
Hadramawt Restaurant & Catering
FAYETTEVILLE, NC — Hadramawt Restaurant & Catering is preparing to open a full-service Yemeni restaurant in downtown Fayetteville at 115 Rosemary St, Fayetteville, NC 28301. Co-owner Ali T. Abdo told Business Debut the team is in the final stages of approvals after working on the project for more than a year, with plans to open within a few months.
R Bar
FAYETTEVILLE, NC — R Bar is in the works at 5395 Ramsey St, Fayetteville, NC 28311, where owner Brian Thompson said he has taken over the former Last Call Sports Bar space. Thompson told Business Debut he has been cleaning and freshening up the building, which operated as a bar for more than 20 years before he acquired it.

La Isla Cafe

RAEFORD, NC — La Isla Cafe is scheduled to open February 1, 2026, at 504 East Central Avenue, Raeford, NC 28376, owner Edwin Carrillo told Business Debut. Carrillo is opening the Puerto Rican cafe with his daughter, Amaryllis Carrillo, and his wife, Barbara Gotay.
Johnston County
Origin Thai Bar and Cuisine
SMITHFIELD, NC — Origin Thai Bar and Cuisine soft opened on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 519 Outlet Center Drive, Smithfield, NC 27577. Owner Green Chaikavin said that they will have a full bar and will serve authentic Thai cuisine.
Chaikavin also owns Gilded Pear Brew House in downtown Smithfield.
Wake County
Canastas Chicken

WAKE FOREST, NC — Canastas Chicken opened recently at 911 Gateway Commons Cir, Wake Forest, NC 27587. The brand is based out of Richmond, VA, and has one other location in Durham (pictured above).
They're known for authentic Peruvian rotisserie chicken that doesn't cut corners, marketing director Rodolfo Elmore said.
