6 New & Coming-Soon Halal Restaurants in North Carolina
Here are several new halal restaurants in the works throughout North Carolina.
North Carolina’s halal scene is heating up, with fresh openings and build-outs from Fayetteville to Charlotte. Qatra Specialty Coffee is already pouring in Clemmons, while Hashtag India and Laziz Fry & Buy are opening soon in Cary.
Hadramawt Restaurant & Catering and Blazin Halal Food have broader timelines, and Charlotte’s The Taj House is bringing modern Indian fine dining to the mix.
The Taj House — Elizabeth Ave, Charlotte

What to expect: Modern Indian fine dining. 100+ seats, two bars, and a ~25-person conference room with soft bar.
Menu: “Modern Indian cuisine with a fusion touch.” Lunch platters by day; elevated dinner service in the evening.

Hadramawt Restaurant & Catering — Downtown Fayetteville

What to expect: Halal fried-chicken deli + neighborhood minimart. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and grab-and-go.
Menu: NY-style deli with an Indian twist. Signature butter-chicken burrito with basmati rice, fresh salsa (cucumber, tomato, onion, cilantro, mango), and cucumber-mint yogurt raita. South Asian spices and everyday groceries in the minimart.
Planned hours: Sun–Thu 7am–7pm; Fri–Sat 7am–9pm.
Qatra Specialty Coffee — Clemmons

What to expect: Yemeni-style specialty coffee shop with ~30 seats.
Menu: Coffee, pastries, sweets. Dubai-style cheesecakes, milk cakes, croissants, mufawar, Adeni chai, Yemeni lattes, refreshers, matcha, and more.
Hours: Daily 6am–11pm; Fri–Sat 6am–12am (final details to be posted by the shop).
