Taste of Bengal — Pineville

Status: Targeting an opening in about one to one-and-a-half months.
What to expect: A takeout-focused Bengali concept with limited seating. The space will also include a halal butcher counter and retail section with frozen goods and snacks.
Menu highlights: Rice plates, biryani, curry dishes, cutlets, and traditional sweets. Expect aromatic flavors with Indian and Bangladeshi influences.

Who’s behind it: Owner Sabyasachi Patra, expanding from an existing Pennsylvania location.
Your Mom’s Donuts — Cornelius

What to expect: A donut shop with a strong takeout focus, plus a coffee program. Limited indoor and outdoor seating will be available.
Menu highlights: Specialty square donuts and coffee drinks. The setup prioritizes efficiency with a large kitchen footprint.

Who’s behind it: Owners Dustin and Colleen Wanemacher, who acquired the brand in 2023 and is expanding its footprint.
Crisp Kitchen & Cocktails — Charlotte

Status: Now open for lunch; dinner launching in early April.
What to expect: A relocated and expanded concept in Brevard Courtyard with a larger footprint, bar, and upstairs dining.
Menu highlights: Fresh salads and wraps for lunch, with dinner adding flank steak, shrimp skewers, mussels, and Mediterranean-inspired dishes.
Hours: Lunch Monday–Friday 11 a.m.–3 p.m.; dinner hours expanding soon.

Palm Berries — Charlotte

What to expect: Fast-casual açaí bowl and smoothie shop with a café-style setup and strong takeout focus.
Menu highlights: Customizable açaí bowls with fruit and granola, plus smoothies made from a Brazilian superfruit base.
