Here’s what’s next for Charlotte dining and coffee: six moves spanning near-term debuts and long-range plays. The Wafflery opened on Rozzelles Ferry this Saturday with Prosperity Church Road up next, while The Taj House and 77 & Belle target December, and Zamindar’s and Three Lanterns map out 2026 arrivals.

The Wafflery

Opening: Grand openined Saturday, December 13 at 7 a.m., 2817 Rozzelles Ferry Rd, Charlotte, NC 28208.

An additional location targeting February at 5332 Prosperity Church Rd, Charlotte, NC 28269

What to expect: West Charlotte unit ~2,000 sq. ft. with ~80 seats, serving a growing residential area. Prosperity Church location takes over a former Jamaican restaurant near a movie theater.

Menu & Drinks: Brunch builds around waffles, biscuits, and grits—choose base, protein, toppings, sauces. Signatures include chicken & waffles, red velvet waffles, shrimp & grits, crabcake & grits, and biscuit stacks (hot chicken, sausage & gravy, pot roast).

Hours: Mon–Fri 7 a.m.–2 p.m.; Sat–Sun 7 a.m.–3 p.m.

The Taj House

Opening: Targeting mid–late December at 1535 Elizabeth Ave, Charlotte, NC 28204

What to expect: Modern Indian fine dining with seating for 100+ and two bars. Conference room for ~25 with its own soft bar for events and groups.

Menu & Drinks: “Modern Indian with a fusion touch.” Lunch platters by day; elevated dinner menu at night. Full menu to be announced at opening.

Hours: Planning lunch and dinner, seven days a week; final hours TBA.

77 & Belle Coffee Shop

Opening: Targeting December at 1720 Pegram St, Charlotte, NC 28205

What to expect: Neighborhood café built for linger-or-go flexibility. Laptop-friendly seating; to-go-friendly packaging to encourage mobility.

Menu & Drinks: Coffee, tea, smoothies, and fresh pastries. Plans for creator-focused programming and community days.

Hours: Seven days a week, 6 a.m.–8 p.m. once open.

Zamindar’s

Opening: Targeting late February 2026 soft opening; grand opening first week of March 2026 at 155 New Bern St, Charlotte, NC 28203

What to expect: ~6,500 sq. ft. across three zones: full-service dining room, casual bar, and a 21+ music/tapas lounge. Covered, climate-controlled patio. Family-friendly dining; nightlife-focused lounge.

Menu & Drinks: Indian cuisine from Michelin Bib Gourmand–winning chef Vamshi Adi (also of ISHQ NYC). Upscale, price-conscious mains in the dining room; a separate cocktail-driven, tapas-style menu in the Cartel Lounge.

Hours: Phased launch starting with dinner and late night; weekend brunch to follow before summer 2026. Final daily schedule TBA.

Three Lanterns

Opening: Targeting summer 2026 (South End hub; exact address TBA)

What to expect: All-day, hub-and-satellite fast casual model. Hub aims for 3,500–4,000 sq. ft. with lounge seating, Wi-Fi, and a full bar; late-night grab-and-go on Fridays and Saturdays.

Menu & Drinks: Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese flavors in a quick format—poke-style bowls and other Asian-inspired dishes at accessible prices. Fine-dining service standards in a casual setting.

Hours: All-day service planned (morning coffee/breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night on weekends, brunch). Final hours TBA.
